ST JOSEPH'S JUSTICE AND PEACE GROUP was formed by 12 parishioners at their inaugural meeting on Sunday 24 November 2002. Since then several new members have joined. The parish is a member of Pax Christi International which sends out regular Newsletters "Justpeace" which highlights peacemaking resources, current issues of justice and many other informative articles. (www.paxchristi.org.uk) TRADE JUSTICE St Joseph's Justice & Peace Group is in close contact with. the Evesham & District Trade Justice Group which sends us regular updates of their very active group. THE INTOLERABLE BURDEN OF DEBT Since
1998 some members of St Joseph's Justice & Peace Group have been
involved with "Jubilee 2000", when 70,000 Jubilee supporters
went to Birmingham to lobby the meeting of the G8 - the world's richest
countries- to help focus their attention on the 3rd world debt. In 1980
the debt of the world's Southern countries amounted to $567 billion
since when they have paid $3,450 billion in interest and write-offs,
six times the original amount. AMNESTY INTERNAIONAL St Joseph's Justice & Peace Group took part in the Greetings Card campaign at Christmas 2002 and will do so again in 2004. Everyday Amnesty International's "Urgent Action Network" uses letters, faxes and telegrams to come to the aid of victims of human rights abuse. AMNESTY VISA CREDIT CARD Help set people
